As the end of summer draws near, so does the season of free outdoor film screenings in New York City. Tonight, the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival presents its finale for this year, and what better choice than Steven Spielberg’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” part of the Indiana Jones trilogy (Kingdom of the Crystal who??).

The action-adventure films stars Harrison Ford as the professor/archeologist/treasure-hunter Indiana Jones, with Karen Allen as Marion, the tough girl who knows how to put Indy in his place. Together they set out to save the Ark of the Covenant from the Nazis. By today’s standards the special effects of this film are underwhelming, but that moment they open the ark still gives me the chills!

The screening takes place on the big lawn at Bryant Park at sunset (around 8pm-ish)…pull up a blanket or a chair and enjoy the show!
